How to distinguish between Grade A and B ?

What is Grade A and Grade B or C?

When a battery manufacturer produces the same batch of batteries, they are categorized according to their discharge test performance, which is divided into four ABCD classes.

Now let's be specific about why they are distinguished in this way

Grade A:

Grade A cells represent the highest quality standard for batteries. If you want an excellent LiFePO4 prismatic cell, look for 'automotive grade' batteries.

Grade A LiFePO4 battery cells meet all technical parameters within specified ranges, have an intact appearance (no damage), and exhibit no swelling or abnormalities. These cells are made from high-quality materials, employing advanced technology for energy storage, stable charge and discharge, and consistent specifications and temperature standards.

Batteries manufactured completely according to these stringent standards are called Grade A cells. They are 100% new and sourced directly from the factory, which supplies battery modules in large quantities to electric car manufacturers.

Grade A cells are not common in the market, and only a few agents can get them through formal channels, Deligreencs is one of them, and we have authorization certificates. However, some companies can get them through special relationships (this method is illegal, and the quality cannot be guaranteed to be authentic Grade A).

We have noticed that many battery companies remove the QR codes from Grade B and even Grade C and pass them off as Grade A batteries. These batteries are then sold at low prices as Grade A to large retailers, consumers, and businesses worldwide. Since it is difficult to distinguish them from genuine Grade A batteries in a short period, many people are deceived. However, after a few months, the performance of these batteries will decline. This results in financial losses for individuals and leads to a loss of customers for many installers and retailers.

Grade B:

The efficiency of the grade B cell is 80%~90% of that of the grade A. Any factory produces products, there must be a defect rate.

In the lithium battery industry, there will not be a big gap between the first-line lithium battery and the third-line lithium battery factory based on technology, ingredients, etc., but in the production process and manufacturing process, there will be A difference in defect rate is very large. First-tier manufacturers can achieve about 2%, while second-and third-tier manufacturers may achieve 5-10%. It is precisely because of this defective rate that a grade B battery is created.

The fact that B-grade batteries have only a little difference in capacity or are not as long or wide as the order specification does not present much of a disadvantage in terms of performance. Some seller also call them "grade A",we think this is dishonest.

Deligreen will be honest and never give a false "sticker" to any battery.

Grade C

Grade C batteries fall below average in every aspect compared to Grade A and B cells. Their energy storage, stable charging and discharging efficiency, battery materials, technology, and repeated charging and discharging capabilities are significantly inferior to those of Grade A batteries. Grade C cells often have a long storage time and suffer from self-discharge aging, dust, and moisture exposure, making them more prone to swelling.

How to use QR code?

1. Find QR Code: all brand new LiFePO4 cells have metal QR Code (Data Matrix) on the cell body somewhere around poles.
For example(EVE 280Ah battery):

2. Type QR Code:there are code on the metal QR plate. Valid code has to be 24 bits (or 19 bits for recycled cells), which is usually splited into two parts. These two parts have to be combined in right order. Some cells may have other letters which are not a part of code, these letters should be ignored.
For example(Code of EVE 304Ah Cell: Combine part 1 (04QCB73812100J) and part 2 (C9S0000329) to get 24 bits code 04QCB73812100JC9S0000329):
